The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires hotels to provide equal access to people with disabilities. Rooms must be equipped with specific assistive systems for Deaf or Hearing Impaired guests. ADA Accessibility Guidelines, published by the Department of Justice, state you must offer the following devices:
- Text Telephone (TTY/TDD)
- Notification System
- Telephone Amplifier
- Visual Smoke Detector
ADA requires the following number of rooms be equipped:

Part of the cost may be tax deductable. Consult your accountant for details. Failure to comply may result in fines up to $50,000 for the first violation and $100,000 for each subsequent violation.
